Supply Chain Management: AI, Optimisation & Resilience

Supply Chain Management: AI, Optimisation ResilienceSupply chain management is no longer just about moving products efficiently. Modern supply chains must balance cost, service, risk, resilience, data, technology, and increasingly AI.This course gives you a practical understanding of how modern supply chains are designed, analysed, optimised, and managed — from demand forecasting and inventory to resilience, risk, network optimisation, data analytics, and AI.You will learn how to:Understand the strategic foundations of modern supply chain managementDesign more resilient, agile, and responsive supply chainsApply demand forecasting and planning principlesUse data to support supply chain analysis and decision-makingManage inventory while balancing cost, availability, and serviceAssess supply chain risks and prepare for disruptionApply root cause analysis and scenario planningUnderstand supplier management and logistics network optimisationUse optimisation techniques such as linear programming and cost-benefit analysisUnderstand how AI and emerging technologies are changing supply chain managementApply AI to supply chain optimisation, visibility, analytics, and decision-makingUse KPIs and performance measurement to support continuous improvementUnderstand how supply chain roles and required skills are changing as AI becomes part of everyday workThe course combines strategic concepts, practical frameworks, demonstrations, and real-world applications. You do not need to be a data scientist or AI specialist. The focus is on understanding how these tools and approaches can support better supply chain decisions. What makes this course different? It goes beyond individual supply chain functions or isolated tools. You will develop a broader understanding of how strategy, data, optimisation, resilience, technology, and human judgement fit together in modern supply chain management. The course also addresses a question that increasingly matters to supply chain professionals:How is AI changing your work — and which skills will continue to matter? The final section examines how AI is changing roles, decision-making, communication, and professional value, helping you think about how to remain effective and relevant as the nature of work changes.Whether you work in supply chain, logistics, procurement, operations, planning, analytics, or management — or are preparing for a career in these areas — this course provides a structured foundation for understanding and navigating the modern supply chain.Course AuthorAlex Amoroso, PhDSenior UX Researcher | Research, Product Learning DesignAlex is a researcher, educator, and course designer with more than 10 years of experience across UX and product research, behavioural research, data, strategy, customer experience, and professional education. Her work focuses on a simple question: what is actually going on, what evidence do we have, and what should we do with it?Across research, product, and organisational environments, she has worked on complex problems involving user behaviour, digital products, analytics, customer experience, decision-making, and innovation. Her research has included studies with thousands of users across B2B and B2C environments, combining qualitative and quantitative methods to investigate problems, challenge assumptions, interpret evidence, and support better decisions.Alongside her professional research work, Dr. Amoroso teaches doctoral-level research design and methodologies, supervises and assesses research projects, and has developed approximately 30 online courses across research, UX, product, data, analytics, customer experience, business, and decision-making. Selected courses are also available through Udemy Business. Her approach to teaching is grounded in the same principles she applies to research: clarify the problem, structure the thinking, distinguish evidence from assumption, and turn complex information into something people can actually use.She holds a PhD in Health Anthropology, with research focused on human behaviour, environmental stress, and quantitative data analysis, and has published in peer-reviewed journals. In her courses, she combines:Research-based thinkingPractical frameworks and methodsReal-world examples and applicationsClear explanations of complex subjectsExercises, tools, and techniques that can be applied immediatelyHer goal is not simply to help learners acquire information, but to help them understand it, structure it, and use it with greater confidence.Welcome to MTF:The MTF Institute of Management, Technology Finance is an international institute of practical education headquartered in Lisbon, Portugal.
